SW PA Diaper Bank now serving Westmoreland County

The Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank has expanded its reach in Westmoreland County!  The Westmoreland Community Action Center's two sites in Greensburg and Ruffs Dale are now partner agencies.  They enhance the services provided by Tri-City Life Center in Lower Burrell that has been serving a portion of Westmoreland County as a partner agency for the past several years. Diapers, lotions, wipes and women's period supplies are now available to families in need.
There are 16,466 children under the age of 5 in the county, with 13.6 percent of all children living in poverty.
The Diaper Bank has been working with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania and the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County to support the expansion.
A December diaper drive in Westmoreland County collected 6,000 diapers.  Thanks to County employees, the public, and staff from MedCare Equipment Co., LLC for their donations and to Westmoreland Park Police for collection logistics.
