VA hospitals and clinics remain open despite government shutdown 

According to official VA Facebook page, the vast majority of VA programs, including VA health care, will not be affected if there is a federal government shutdown due to a budget impasse. The Veterans Health Administration, including VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, has advanced appropriations, which means we will continue to provide the health care Veterans rely on regardless of a government shutdown.
