ACLU lawsuit prompts official steps to speed treatment for mentally ill defendants

People deemed too mentally ill to stand trial in Pennsylvania will soon have more places to get help.
Facing pressure from the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania, state officials on Thursday agreed to take another crack at speeding up care for people determined to be too mentally ill to stand trial by adding 110 new beds to treatment facilities across the state. Read more...
