Courthouse Open by Appointment Only until further notice

Effective Monday, December 14, 2020 until further notice the Courthouse will be closed to the public, except by appointment only.

The following details how to contact and obtain services for county and court departments.

Home-delivered meals are being delivered by local senior centers and Congregate meal drive-up is on-going at each center.  All meals are currently provided on Mondays and Thursdays only. All meals are frozen. 
All 13 Senior Centers re-open effective June 1, 2021. Satellite Centers remain temporarily closed. All Department of Health and CDC guidelines for mitigating the risk of COVID-19 virus will be followed.

Juvenile Detention
Visitation is allowed for shelter and detention residents.  Only immediate family is permitted.  All visits will take place in the "screened" room.
Residents are able to use Skype or Facetime to communicate with family members once/week

Juvenile Probation
The Juvenile Probation Office is open to the public and has resumed regular business hours of operation. The New Kensington sub-office is also open.
Law Library Open to public Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (excluding holidays). Email is monitored.

Parks Parks & Recreation Main Office
The Parks and Recreation Main office is open to the public; however, we recommend communication via phone or email to limit face to face contact.  If you must come to the office in person, we ask that you please wear a mask when you arrive.
All park amenities are open to the public, users are reminded to follow all state health department and CDC guidance including masks, distancing and gatherings.

Tax Assessment

• Regular and Senior Dog Licenses can be purchased either through the mail or by using our online licensing system.  Lifetime dog licenses can only be done through the mail. Small Games and Bingo Licenses can be renewed or purchased through the mail.  Due to limited staff it may take longer than usual to receive your license.
Veterans Affairs
No in-person claim services until further notice. 
Office is open to pick up and drop off paperwork, recorded military discharges, etc. We request all visitors wear a mask, if not for your own safety, please do so for the health/safety of the veterans who visit after you.
• We are available to assist all of our normal services via phone, email, and mail.

• Call (724) 830-3530 for assistance and please leave a message if prompted.  We have very limited staffing in the office, but messages are checked regularly during business hours and forwarded to those working remotely.

The DAV van is currently still available on a limited basis for transportation to and from appointments at the VA Hospitals in Pittsburgh.
Westmoreland County Prison

Visits for attorneys will only be permitted from 8:30 AM-4:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Inmate visits to resume June 27th, 2021.
Inmates will be given one (1) free video visit per week.  The visit will last for ten (10) minutes.  Your family/friends will be able to contact GTL at to schedule the video visit.  All visitors and inmates will abide by the rules set forth for video visiting  These rules can be found on the Prison website.
All face to face visits have been cancelled until June 27th 2021.
