The Health Care Quality Unit is a service funded by the Department of Public Welfare's Office of Developmental Programs. The HCQU is a quality improvement entity developed to improve the quality of health care services received by people with Developmental Disabilities. This task is accomplished through the following venues, but is not limited to only these venues: community based education surrounding physical/ behavioral health conditions, implementation of the Health Risk Profiles, and technical assistance to community ID service providers/community healthcare providers regarding methods to improve the healthcare received by people with developmental disabilities. Kepro is the company who is contracted through Westmoreland County BH/DS to provide HCQU services to an eight county southwestern Pennsylvania consortium.
