Boat Registration
Registration & Fees
If the proper paperwork is not provided, the PA Fish and Boat Commission will reject your application for a boat registration. Please note fees cover a 2-year registration period expiring March 31 of the second year. Listed below are some but not all of the points to review before applying at our office.
- Money order or personal check payable to: PA Fish and Boat Commission
- $2 cash or money order / personal check administrative fee to the Treasurer's Office
- Boats used for pleasure are taxable. Proof showing 6% sales tax paid in advance are required
- Transactions involving a previously titled boat require the seller's signature and old title notarized before your visit to the Treasurer's Office
- If your boat sale involves a money transaction, a notarized bill of sale is required
- Duplicate title, certificate of title, transfers, estate sales, upgrades, out-of-date registrations, etc., please contact our office for details
- Launch Permits are now available at the Treasurer's Office. Cost: One year permit is $12.90 and expires December 31 of the year it's issued. Two year permit is $22.90 expires December 31 of the second year it's issued. Launch permits are also available through the Outdoor Shop
- Registrations for boat trailers are not done in the Treasurer's Office
