This workshop is a comprehensive approach to understanding the dynamics that cause and maintain poverty from the individual to the systemic level. Bridges Out of Poverty uses the lens of economic class and provides concrete tools and strategies for a community to prevent, reduce and alleviate poverty. Participants will review poverty research, examine a theory of change, and analyze poverty through the prism of the hidden rules of class, resources, and language.

APPRISE, the state health insurance assistance program, will hold free basic Medicare health insurance sessions at five locations in Westmoreland County.
Medicare 101 will help individuals understand when to sign up for benefits, supplemental plans, costs, what to do if you are still employed and other options.
APPRISE is a program sponsored by the Westmoreland County Community College Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and is funded, in part, under a contract with the Westmoreland Board of County Commissioners, Area Agency on Aging, Pennsylvania Department of Aging and the Administration on Aging
